World Poker Tour opens its 11th season in high style when the WPT Merit Cyprus event shuffles up and deals starting on August 4. Held at the gorgeous Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino, this $4,400 tournament (with Day 1B re-entry) promises a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million and a whole lot of fun.

Attracting pros and amateurs from around the world, the WPT Merit Cyprus is more than just a WPT tournament; it’s a poker vacation. For those players looking to build their bankrolls away from the tournament tables, WPT Merit Cyprus has a ton of Hold ‘em, Omaha, and mixed cash games with levels from $5-$10 all the way up to $50-$100 or higher. High-stakes Chinese Poker games are also available, with stakes running from $25 to $200 a point, or more.

Outside of the poker room, players can kick back with a drink while enjoying amazing ocean views or attend WPT’s VIP beach party from 6pm to 11pm on Tuesday, August 7. Wind down – or gear up – afterward by hitting one of Cyprus’ hottest night clubs for a late-night after party. Players looking for outdoor activities that don’t involve sand and bathing suits can join WPT Tournament Director Matt Savage on the nearby Korineum Golf Course where he’ll be taking on all comers for some low-stakes action and a year’s worth of bragging rights..

If this all sounds too good to be true, then the only thing we can recommend is that you check out the WPT Merit Cyprus tournament for yourself.
