The first WPT Online Series hosted by partypoker is due to get underway next month, and everyone here at WPT has been working hard behind the scenes to create a festival that delivers a top-notch schedule for regular and recreational players alike.
With that in mind, there have been some changes to the format that WPT believes will offer the best possible experience for our players. So, what do these changes entail?
New Festival Dates
The most important change to note is that the entire festival has been brought forward by a week – great news for those of you who didn’t want to wait an extra seven days as it all kicks off from Sunday, May 3 now and will run until Tuesday, May 19.
This means that the dates for most events have also changed including the flagship event of the series, the Main Event. The Championship Event will premiere on the opening night and will play out right through until the close of the festival.
A total of five starting flights will take place between May 3-18, so the $3,200 event promises to be huge and the $5 million guarantee reflects that.
The prize pool is one reason to get excited but the winner will also net themselves a seat into the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions as well as bringing home the large cash prize!
Not only that, but there will also be a full schedule of side events to choose from, with another $10 million in guarantees spread across nine tournaments: WPT 500, WPT Bounty Hunter, WPT PLO, WPT 6-MAX, WPT MIX-MAX, WPT Super High Roller, WPT Turbo [PKO], WPT High Roller and WPTDeepStacks.
WPT Passport
Not wishing anyone to be left out, the WPT Passport offers an incredible opportunity for players of any level to get involved in the series. In fact, it is possible to freeroll your way into the three biggest highlights of the festival calendar, which are the WPT Main Event, WPT500 and WPTDeepStacks – worth a total of $5,500!
