Season XVIII of the World Poker Tour returns to Casino Sochi in the New Year for WPT Russia, which will take place from January 12–26, 2020.
Featuring a buy-in of ₽210,000 (approximately $3,300) and a huge ₽95,500,000 guarantee (over $1.5 million), the flagship WPT Main Event will be one of the highlights of the tour.
Denys Shafikov is the defending champion after coming out on top of the 503 player-field in 2019.
Shafikov battled with Aleksey Gortikov heads up and, in the end, it was the Ukrainian’s day. He netted $255,259 for first place and secured his first WPT title in the process.
This year, hopefuls can travel to the picturesque town of Krasnaya Polyana for a full festival of events that take place over two weeks, the Main Event is just one of the many reasons to get involved in the action.
