The $3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown has set a new record and is now the largest event in the World Poker Tour’s 12-year history. The official prize pool was released this morning and the total prize pool of $5,763,150 easily topped the $5 million guarantee thanks to field of 1,795 entries. The winner will take home $1,081,184 on Wednesday, April 16. The top 170 players will walk away with at least $7,093.

The chip leader at the start of play this afternoon was Justin Young with 313,200. He was joined at the top by Melad Marji with 298,000, Joe Kuether with 295,900, Will Durkee with 284,800, and Nick Schwarmann with 274,900. Play has been underway for more than five hours now and, at time of publish, there are still 306 players remaining with Schwarmann now leading the way.
