Las Vegas, NV (Nov. 8, 2023) The WPT® World Championship festival at Wynn Las Vegas is made up of a robust schedule of events, including many female-focused initiatives, which are anchored by the second-annual WPT Ladies Championship.

“We greatly appreciate the incredible support of the players who participated in last year’s Ladies Championship and are looking forward to an even bigger event this year,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “We salute the many woman pioneers in this industry and are happy to be part of meaningful events that support our continued admiration.”

The WPT’s ongoing commitment to increasing female participation in poker is driven by an executive leadership team that is 50% female. The 2022 WPT Ladies Championship debut drew a field of 578 women, generating a $560,660 prize pool. The eventual champion, Lina Niu, came away with the $105,136 first-place prize.

This year’s WPT Ladies Championship will run from December 6-8. The event features a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool, as well as a livestreamed final table. Through WPT satellites and giveaways at various Ladies Meet-Up Games, 10 tournament seats have already been awarded to women around the world.

On Dec. 8, ahead of the WPT Ladies Championship final-table finale, The Ladies Mimosa MUG, hosted by Jamie Kerstetter, will occur in the Wynn Poker Room from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Last year’s event saw more than 150 women in attendance. This year, 19 splash pot prizes will be awarded during live-action play, ranging from gift bags to $1,100 WPT Prime seats.

Another special event is set for Dec. 7, on Day 2 of the Ladies Championship. There will be a viewing party in the WPT VIP Passport Lounge, broadcasting all four televised episodes of the 2022 WPT Ladies Championship. The viewing party will be an invitation-only event for select members of Poker League of Nations (PLON), Poker Power, Women’s Poker Association (WPA) and Women in Poker Hall of Fame (WiPHoF).
