First up is WPT500 Los Angeles at The Gardens Casino in sunny California. From May 21-31, 2017, poker players will flock to this newly upgraded casino property for a shot at a lucrative $1 million guaranteed prize pool. It is the first time the WPT500 series comes to California, and all signs point to this event being a massive success that you won’t want to miss out on.

With an affordable buy-in of $565, poker players from all over looking for a bargain should look no further than this event, which is part of The Gardens Poker Festival running May 15-31. This is especially true for California poker players of all levels, as it is no secret that the Californian poker community loves accessible buy-in levels with huge guarantees.

WPT500 Los Angeles has 14 starting flights and reentry format. That’s right, there will be plenty of opportunities for players to chase a life-changing payday.

What’s more is that once the field reaches the final 54 players, the Action Clock from Protection Poker will be implemented, creating a even more exciting feel in the event.

The first four starting flights start each day at 11 a.m. PT from May 21-24, and one flight will be played per day. The next 10 starting flights are scheduled for May 25-29, with two per day. On those days, the first daily flight of the two will start at 11 a.m. PT, and the second will start at 5 p.m. PT. The one at 5 p.m. PT will be played with a more fast-paced structure.

Action in each starting flight will last until eight percent of that flight’s field remains, and all advancing players will return to action on Day 2. Day 2 will take place on Tuesday, May 30, with the plan to play down to the WPT500 Los Angeles final table.

Those to reach the final table will return to action on Wednesday, May 31, and compete for the WPT500 Los Angeles title on a global live stream.
