Benveniste was one of 16 players to return for the final day of action, including Tobias Peters who has made some waves on the WPTDeepStacks tour in Europe in 2017. Peters took fourth in the WPTDeepStacks Amsterdam Main Event in May, second in the WPTDeepStacks Valkenburg Main Event in October, and 33rd in the WPTDeepStacks Brussels Main Event in November before he joined Benveniste at the final table of the WPTDeepStacks Deauville Main Event.

Peters wound up finishing fifth in the WPTDeepStacks Deauville Main Event for €22,366 and moved into first place in the WPTDeepStacks Europe Player of the Year race.

Four-handed play saw Benveniste move into the chip lead. He then eliminated Ekrem Sanioglu in fourth place before Jean Claude Loustau busted in third place, and heads-up play was set between Benveniste and Sandro Pitzanti. When heads-up play began, the two were very close in chips and separated by just four big blinds.

Less than an hour after heads-up play began, Benveniste sealed the deal when he knocked out Pitzanti in second place. On the final hand, it was Pitzanti’s Club AHeart 10 hitting a ten on the river to beat the Club 6Club 4 for Pitzanti after Pitzanti flopped the lead with two pair. Pitzanti earned €65,200 for his finish.
