MonteDam Swing Leaderboard Update; Andreas Klatt Still Leads

May 6, 2017

Andreas Klatt
With the conclusion of the PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo Main Event yesterday evening, the poker world was eagerly waiting for an update on the MonteDam Swing leaderboard, to see who was in pole position for a whole raft of different prizes.

It wasn’t easy for you to guess who was leading. After winning the PokerStars National Championship for €151,445 he went on to finish runner-up to Raffaele Sorrentino in the Main Event for a further €402,786 after a heads-up deal.

Klatt has just taken his seat in the WPTDeepStacks Amsterdam safe in the knowledge that he has a 95-point lead over Sorrentino in the MonteDam Swing leaderboard, and a 100-point lead over Frenchman Romain Lewis who currently sits in third place.

The top five finishers of the MonteDam Swing leaderboard will earn the following prizes:

1st: PokerStars Championship Barcelona Main Event package (worth €7,500)
2nd: WPT Main Event* package (worth €6,000)
3rd: WPTDeepStacks* package (worth €3,000)
4th: PokerStars National Championship Barcelona Buy-in (€1,100) + Barcelona hotel voucher (€500)
5th: WPTDeepStacks* Buy-in (€1,500)

*WPT and WPTDeepStacks prizes only apply to events in Europe.

Technically Klatt isn’t home and dry just yet, but it would take a phenomenal effort from Sorrentino, Lewis (if/when they show up in Amsterdam), or anyone else in the field here in Amsterdam to catch the German.

Here is a look at the updated standings thus far:

  1. 1. Andreas Klatt – 210
  2. 2. Raffaele Sorrentino – 115
  3. 3. Romain Lewis – 110
  4. T-4. Andrey Bondar – 85
