Los Angeles, CA (January 10, 2017) – WPT Enterprises, Inc. today announced that it has acquired WPTDeepStacks™. World Poker Tour® will now fully own and operate the WPTDeepStacks brand starting with Season 4 of the tour, which begins January 12, 2017.
DeepStacks Poker Tour, launched in 2012, partnered with the WPT® to form WPTDeepStacks in mid-2014, replacing the existing WPT Regional and DeepStacks Poker Tour brands in the United States and Europe. The partnership led to growth of the WPTDeepStacks tour, generating more than $10 million in total prize pools since partnering with the WPT.

As a fully integrated member of the WPT family, WPTDeepStacks will now be able to offer bigger and better events for its playing community, including expansion to new regions and establishing new partnerships. Although WPT acquired all of the assets of WPTDeepStacks, DeepStacks Poker Tour will continue to operate events in certain regions of Canada on its own.
Season 4 kicks off with WPTDeepStacks Hollywood at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, featuring a $1 million guaranteed $1,100 Main Event that runs January 19-24, 2017.
Overall, WPTDeepStacks Season 4 features 18 events in 2017, including a brand new location for the $1 million guaranteed WPTDeepStacks Championship, a $2,500 buy-in event that takes place December 1-4 at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, California.
