Los Angeles, CA (May 30, 2017) – World Poker Tour® today announced further expansion for the WPTDeepStacks™ tour in Europe, with five events added to the 2017 schedule.
The first additional event takes poker’s premier mid-major tournament circuit to Casino Solverde in Vilamoura, Portugal for WPTDeepStacks Portugal. It is the first trip to Portugal for WPTDeepStacks, and one that plans to deliver an incredible experience in a spectacular location. Located in the heart of the Algarve, Portugal’s southernmost region known for its gorgeous views out across the Atlantic Ocean, Casino Solverde is just minutes away from some of the world’s most breathtaking beaches.
The full WPTDeepStacks Portugal festival of events takes place August 25 through September 3 and is highlighted by the €1,100 buy-in, €200,000 guaranteed Main Event August 31 through September 3.
Following Portugal, WPTDeepStacks hops over to Marrakesh for the PMU.fr WPTDeepStacks Marrakesh festival. Held at the famous Moroccan city resort of Casino de Marrakesh, the WPTDeepStacks Marrakesh festival runs September 29 through October 8 with a DH 13,000 (approx. €1,200) Main Event taking place October 5-8. It is the second of three events in conjunction with PMU.fr, and the European online partner of WPTDeepStacks provides a fantastic outlet for players to win packages to this highly anticipated event.
October 9-15, WPTDeepStacks returns to Holland for WPTDeepStacks Netherlands at Holland Casino in Valkenburg. The jam-packed schedule of events features a €1,200 Main Event that runs October 12-15. WPTDeepStacks Netherlands is the second trip to Holland this year for the tour, following a successful open to the season with WPTDeepStacks Amsterdam. Holland Casino Valkenburg is located at the top of the famous Cauberg, one of the most beautiful locations in South Limburg.
In November, Grand Casino Brussels VIAGE plays host to WPTDeepStacks in the heart of the European capital. The WPTDeepStacks Brussels festival runs November 7-12 and features a €1,200 Main Event from November 9-12. The magnificent Grand Casino Brussels VIAGE features 39 table games, and its high standards and professional staff are one of the many reasons why the venue has been one of the favorite stops for European poker players.
The final stop for WPTDeepStacks in Europe during 2017 will take the tour to France for the PMU.fr WPTDeepStacks Deauville festival. The full schedule of events takes place December 5-11 at Casino Barrière Deauville, with the €1,200 Main Event running December 8-11. The city’s luxurious setting is just a short walking distance from the beach and harbor in the seaside resort of Normandy, making this location ideal for an unforgettable experience. The event is part of a two-year deal between the World Poker Tour and Barrière Group.

The player who accumulates the most points during WPTDeepStacks main events in Europe, according to the scoring system, will be crowned the WPTDeepStacks European Player of the Year. Not only will the winner be crowned WPTDeepStacks European Player of the Year, but he or she will earn a package that includes €15,000 in buy-ins to WPT Main Tour events in Europe, a €5,000 WPTDeepStacks Europe sponsorship package for WPTDeepStacks Main Events in the region, and a custom trophy.
Additionally, all WPTDeepStacks champions from European main events will earn a seat into the season-ending WPTDeepStacks event in Europe, plus €500 for travel expenses.
WPTDeepStacks is currently in the South of France at Le Croisette Casino Barrière for the PMU.fr WPTDeepStacks Cannes festival running through June 4. The series features a €1,200 Main Event running June 1-4 and a €2,200 High Roller running June 3-4.
