The World Poker Tour is returning to South Korea at the end of September for the WPT Korea festival. The full tournament series is scheduled to run September 24-30, 2017, at the Grand Jeju Paradise Casino, with the KRW 1.5 million (approx. $1,300) buy-in Main Event taking place September 26-30.

The WPT Korea Main Event features a guaranteed prize pool of KRW 200 million (approx. $175,000) and two starting flights. Each starting flight allows one reentry per player, plus players have the option of buying in or reentering on Day 2 as long as registration is open. Each player competing in the WPT Korea Main Event is allowed a maximum of five entries.

Day 1a of the WPT Korea Main Event takes place on Tuesday, September 26, and Day 1b follows on Wednesday, September 27. Both days begin at 1 p.m. local time in Jeju.

Other exciting poker tournaments on the WPT Korea schedule are the WPT Korea High Roller with a buy-in of KRW 6 million (approx. $5,250) and the WPT Korea Monster Stack with a buy-in of KRW 1 million ($875).

WPT Korea tournaments are eligible for the WPT Asia-Pacific Player of the Year leaderboard, which will award a $15,000 package to be used for any WPT Main Tour, WPTDeepStacks, or WPT500 events in the Asia-Pacific region. Complimentary accommodations and ground transportation for the events will be provided by the WPT, as part of the $15,000 package earned by the WPT Asia-Pacific Player of the Year.

The WPT Asia-Pacific Player of the Year runner-up will receive a $3,500 buy-in to the Season XVII WPT Beijing Main Event, and third place will receive one WPTDeepStacks main event buy-in and one WPT500 buy-in for WPT events in the Asia-Pacific region.

Below are the eligible events to earn WPT Asia-Pacific Player of the Year points for Season XVI:

– April 15-19, 2017: WPT Beijing (completed)
– September 24-30, 2017: WPT Korea
– November 23-26, 2017: WPT Japan
– November 7-13, 2017: WPT India
