Los Angeles, CA (February 8, 2018) – World Poker Tour® today announced it has partnered with 888poker and Aspers Westfield Stratford City to bring a WPT500™ event to London. The WPT500 London festival takes place March 23-April 2, 2018, and the highly accessible tournament offers huge opportunity with a $565 buy-in and a $1 million guaranteed prize pool.
Players will have plenty of chances to participate in WPT500 London, and starting flights have been conveniently spread out across 888poker and three different Aspers properties. Although the live portion of the WPT500 London festival runs March 23-April 2, 888poker will host one opening day online on March 11. Then, Aspers Westfield Stratford City in London will have four starting days spread across March 23-25 and five spread across March 29-31. Additional Aspers properties, Aspers Casino Newcastle and The Casino Milton Keynes, will host three starting days each from March 23-25.
Players are allowed to play multiple Day 1s in an attempt to qualify for Day 2 with a larger chip stack than previously earned. Those qualifying for Day 2 with multiple stacks will take their best stack forward and forfeit all other chip stacks. Not only will players have opportunities to play in more than one starting flight, but each starting flight will play down to the money. That allows for players to play and cash in multiple starting flights before taking their best stack forward to Day 2 on Sunday, April 1. The final table will take place Monday, April 2, and is to be live streamed around the world.

Additionally, players in Aspers’ weekly tournaments will have the unique opportunity to win into WPT500 London through the venue’s Second Chance Tournaments. Any player who plays a weekly tournament at Aspers will automatically qualify for the Aspers Second Chance Tournament on Sundays at 2 p.m. local time. With fifteen percent of each weekly tournament prize pool transferred to the Second Chance Tournament, it is estimated that more than £4,000 will be up for grabs, plus players will have the chance to win seats into the WPT500 London event.
