The World Poker Tour is heading to some of the most enjoyable locations this September, as WPTDeepStacks hits Vilamoura, Portugal, September 1-9 and Marrakech, Morocco, September 22-30. Both events combine an action-packed poker festival with a beautiful destination, making these two stops you do not want to miss out on.

Poker for All Levels at WPTDeepStacks Portugal September 1-9

The second edition of WPTDeepStacks Portugal kicks off Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Casino Vilamoura. The poker tournament festival features nine events, including the €200,000 guarantee WPTDeepStacks Portugal Main Event that has a buy-in of €1,100.

This season’s WPTDeepStacks Portugal Main Event kicks off Thursday, September 6, and has three starting flights. The first takes place on September 6, then the next two take place on September 7, with one at 2 p.m. local time and the other at 10 p.m. The 10 p.m. flight will be played as a fast-chance format with 20-minute levels. Registration is open until the start of Level 10, and players are allowed one reentry per starting day.

In the last trip to Portugal, the WPTDeepStacks Main Event attracted a field of 250 entries and saw Francisco Lopes win the event for €57,010.

The WPTDeepStacks Portugal tournament festival will use the big blind ante format in all events, starting with the €350 buy-in WPTDeepStacks No-Limit Hold’em Opener on September 1. The three-day opening event combines an affordable buy-in with a player-friendly structure, as players begin with 20,000 in chips and play 30-minute levels to start before the levels increase to 40 minutes on Day 2.

Another fixture on the WPTDeepStacks Portugal schedule is the €2,000 High Roller. This two-day event starts Wednesday, September 5, and features 40,000 in starting chips and 40-minute levels for Day 1. On Day 2, the levels increase to 60 minutes.

Jam-Packed Schedule for WPTDeepStacks Marrakech September 22-30

The sumptuous Casino de Marrakech Es Saadi is an official partner of the World Poker Tour for the fifth consecutive year. The property is truly world-class, and players will agree that the luxurious resort is one of the favorite stops on tour.

Taking place September 22-30, the nine-day WPTDeepStacks Marrakech festival features an impressive 26 poker tournaments. Buy-ins range from as low as €55* in some of the satellites being offered to €2,700* for the Super High Roller. Of course, everyone always wants to know about a series’ main event and this season’s WPTDeepStacks Marrakech Main Event takes place September 27-30. With a buy-in of 13,200 MAD (approx. €1,200*), the stage is set for another spectacular tournament with a big first-place payday. In WPTDS’ last trip to Marrakech, Smain Mamouni topped a field of 433 entries in the Main Event to win 1,000,000 MAD (approx. $110,000).

Other notable events on the WPTDeepStacks Marrakech schedule include the €365* buy-in WPTDeepStacks Marrakech Opener, the €550* buy-in WPTDeepStacks Warm-Up, and the €1,800* buy-in WPTDeepStacks High Roller.

*Buy-in amounts are estimated conversions from the Dirham rate. Buy-ins will only be accepted in Dirham.

Both Events Qualify for WPTDeepStacks European Player of the Year

Both WPTDeepStacks Portugal and WPTDeepStacks Marrakech qualify for the WPTDeepStacks European Player of the Year competition. The competition began with WPTDeepStacks Brussels that was won by Ioannis Angelou-Konstas for €75,000 and his second WPTDeepStacks title and currently has WPTDeepStacks Amsterdam winner Christos Economides out in front. This season, the top three finishers in the WPTDeepStacks European Player of the Year race will earn prizes. The player crowned WPTDeepStacks European Player of the Year will win €10,000 WPT tournament buy-in credits. Second place will earn €3,500 WPT tournament buy-in credits, and third place will earn €1,500 WPT tournament buy-in credits.

WPT tournament buy-in credits can be used in any global WPT event, including WPT Main TourWPTDeepStacksWPT500, and WPT Special Events.
