Season 17 WPT Montreal Schedule

Things to do in Montreal:

1. Hike the Mont-Royal

The iconic mountain overlooking the city is the best starting point for your Montreal journey. The view is only a gorgeous walk or bus ride away from the Montreal city-center. The Belvedere Observatory offers amazing views of downtown Montreal and the mountains over on the south bank.

If you are brave enough to get up early, make sure to catch the sunrise from atop Mont-Royal. Seeing the morning light emerge over the skyscrapers is a sight to behold.

2. Indulge in the Montreal food culture

Montreal is a foodie city. The favorites might are of the greasy kind and there’s even more than that on the menu. Montrealers are known to treat themselves to a night out and enjoy a quality meal.

There are multiple culinary tours to select from in Montreal. One of the local favorites is Eat a Poutine.

This is a favorite already on most visitor’s lists. Poutine lives up to its notorious reputation. Messy and delicious. Once you’ve you had your first bite, you will never eat fries the same way again.

There are plenty of places where you can grab good poutine in Montreal. Here are a few of the time-tested favorites.

La Banquise (994 Rachel Est)

Poutineville (1365 Ontario)

Montreal Pool Room (1217 St-Laurent)

Frite Alors! (2 De La Commune Est)

Patati Patata (4177 St-Laurent)

3. Visit Notre-Dame Basilica

There are many ‘must-sees’ in Montreal and this famed church is at the top of the list. The Notre-Dame Basilica is a one-of-a-kind spectacle. On the grounds include one of the striking gothic facades in the world and a strikingly beautiful chapel at the back. Inside the chapel resides the organ that visitors cannot stop raving about.

If you’re looking for celebrity power, Céline Dion’s wedding took place at the historic church.

4. See Montreal from the Top

Au Sommet provides unobstructed views of downtown Montreal inside the second-tallest building in the entire city. Among the visible sights include the leafy Mont-Royal mountain, the Olympic Stadium, the River St. Lawrence, along with the mountains of the South Shore. The $19 price includes the view of the city and an exhibit about Montreal. A true bargain.

5. Play some of the best poker in North America

Playground Poker Club is Canada’s premier poker destination and located just minutes south of downtown Montreal in the Mohawk territory of Kahnawake.

The property includes over 70 tables and the perfect set of amenities to satisfy all players. Inside Playground Poker Club is a world-class poker experience that starts with an impeccable dealer and floor staff.

Along with the WPT Montreal festival events, cash game action continues all day and all night with No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha the most common games.
