It was a rocking Sunday on the virtual felts as Adda52’s World Poker Tour (WPT) Online India series wrapped up with the ₹2.5 Crores GTD WPT India Main Event crowning a champion in Kumar Sahaj, who won a jaw-dropping ₹50 Lakhs!

The magnum opus of the WPT India Online Series (WPTOI), the ₹2.5 Crores GTD WPT India Main Event, pulled the curtains down on the series last night. The showstopper tourney logged in 2,573 entries across a marathon of 10 starting flights, generating a mind-boggling ₹2.57 Crores prize pool. Day 2 began with 323 survivors returning to contend for the grand prize, but only the top 269 finished in the money.
Trouncing this guarantee-smashing field to become the 2020 WPT India Main Event champion was Kumar ‘kumar69’ Sahaj! The relatively lesser-known player outlasted ‘PsychG0D’ heads-up to win a life-altering ₹50 Lakhs! Barot collected an equally impressive ₹26.49 Lakhs.
Along with the ginormous prize money, Sahaj was awarded the WPT Main Event trophy, a Hublot Classic wristwatch valued at ₹7 Lakhs, and a WPT Passport worth $5,000!
The star-studded final table featured the likes of PokerGuru Ambassador Laksh Pal ‘BoomTilt23’ Singh (3rd for ₹19.21 Lakhs), Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall (4th for ₹13.53 Lakhs), Ashumi ‘Ashumi’ Parakh (5th for ₹9.44 Lakhs), Sriharsha ‘Ivey2’ Doddapaneni (7th for ₹4.40 Lakhs) and Kamlesh ‘nirbadh’ Pandey (8th for ₹2.88 Lakhs).
One of the special events of the series, the ₹30 Lakhs GTD WPT India – Mike Sexton Tribute, also played out yesterday. Hosted in honor of the Poker Hall of Famer and legendary WPT Commentator Mike Sexton, who passed away on September 7, the ₹11,000 entry buy-in tournament attracted 395 entries, collecting a guarantee-smashing ₹39.50 Lakhs prize pool. Hemant ‘hemper’ Padamwar was the last player standing and pocketed ₹9.79 Lakhs in prize money. Shashank ‘Goldfish03’ Shekhar came in second for ₹5.92 Lakhs, while Young Gun Ujjwal ‘fourteenk’ Narwal posting his second FT score of the night, placed third for ₹4.14 Lakhs. Apart from the prize money, Padamwar also received a WPT trophy and a $1,000 WPT Passport as a part of the ‘Added Value’ promotion.
The ₹20 Lakhs GTD WPT 2500 garnered 970 entries to collect ₹21.82 Lakhs in the prize pool. PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit ‘d00mtr00p3r’ Wadhawan conquered the event for a cool ₹5.31 Lakhs paycheque, while his teammate Vivek ‘vivek94540’ Singh came in second for ₹2.89 Lakhs. Wadhawan has been in peak form over the past few weeks, having won Spartan Poker’s ₹20 Lakhs GTD FTS#6 on November 18 and PokerStars India’s ₹12 Lakhs GTD Highroller on November 20. His total recorded online earnings have reached ₹4.19 Crores after last night’s score.

The ₹15 Lakhs GTD WPT India Madness had commenced on November 16, Monday, same as the WPT India Main Event. After hosting seven starting flights, the ₹550 buy-in tourney registered 2,273 entries, overlaying ₹3.63 Lakhs. Following almost five hours of play on Day 2, Vidur ‘bullgod89’ Singhal came out on top to collect a ₹2.25 Lakhs payday. ‘arushiagarwal’ finished runner-up for ₹1.60 Lakhs.
Former AOPS Main Event champion Faiz ‘TheInternetKid’ Alam picked up his third WPT title by shipping the ₹6 Lakhs GTD WPT Moonlight for ₹1.69 Lakhs. The event wrangled in 417 entrants to generate a prize pool worth ₹6.83 Lakhs. Alam defeated Pankaj ‘Pok3rking’ Nanda (runner-up for ₹1.02 Lakhs) in the heads-up play to claim the title. Alam had previously won the WPT Novemberfest on November 6 and the WPT Late Night on November 18. This latest win has boosted his lifetime tally to ₹3.03 Crores.
The final ₹5 Lakhs GTD WPT Classic at the series, like the previous editions, failed to meet its prize pool guarantee. However, it was a relatively minor overlay of ₹27,710 on the back of 346 entries. Seasoned pro Dhaval ‘dirtyzoso’ Mudgal championed the tourney to collect ₹82,912, while Neeraj ‘kumartomar’ Kumar came in second for ₹73,372.
With WPTOI now in the books, it’s time to take a look at the Mega and Mini leaderboards. The Mega leaderboard saw well-known reg Raghav ‘BaLuGaWhAlE’ Bansal come out on top with 702 points. The Delhi-based pro had shipped the ₹30 Lakhs GTD WPT Big Game and the ₹30 Lakhs GTD WPT Thursday Feature, while also finishing runner-up in the ₹30 Lakhs GTD WPT India Mini Highroller. Bansal will collect an additional ₹10 Lakhs for topping the Mega leaderboard.
PokerGuru Ambassador and the 2019 WPT India Main Event champion Ashish ‘ragspoker’ Munot placed second with 698 points. He picked up his career-second WPT title in the ₹20 Lakhs GTD WPT Wednesday Feature on November 18. Ayush ‘lazyman’ Garg secured the third spot on the leaderboard with 676 points. He had shipped the first marquee tourney of the series, the ₹30 Lakhs GTD WPT Kickoff, on November 5.

The Mini Leaderboard was topped by Arjun ‘Beatthefish66’ Arora with 2,136 points. Site regular ‘Lokimon’ grabbed the second position with 2,014 points, while

The first-ever WPT Online India Main Event champion has been crowned!
With a humungous prize pool guarantee of ₹2.5 Crores, the tournament ran 10 starting flights starting November 16. From Day 1A to Day 1J, a total of 2,573 hopefuls (1,689 unique and 884 re-entries) ponied up the ₹11,000 entry buy-in to collect a smashing ₹2.57 Crores in prize money.
Only 323 stacks made it to Day 2. With the multiple stacks removed, 273 players began Day 2 at 10.15 PM last night, 269 of them assured a share of the prize money.
The grind went on till almost 5 AM today, where climbing all the way to the top was a relatively lesser-known player Kumar ‘kumar69’ Sahaj. Sahaj defeated Siddharth ‘PsychG0D’ Barot in the heads-up play to win his career-first WPT Trophy and a career-changing ₹50 Lakhs in prize money.
The runner-up, Barot, also picked up his single-largest score worth ₹26.49 Lakhs. His recorded online tally now stands at ₹57.06 Lakhs.

Wadhawan, who has live scores at WPT Cambodia and WPT Goa, has been on a roll lately; he won two events last week – the ₹20 Lakhs GTD FTS #6 for ₹4.65 Lakhs on Wednesday and the PokerStars India ₹12 Lakhs GTD Highroller on Friday for ₹2.49 Lakhs. Last night, he helped himself to a juicy ₹5.31 Lakhs after eliminating fellow PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘vivek94540’ Singh (runner-up for ₹2.89 Lakhs) in second place.
While we may have missed a few of his scores (technical issues), Wadhawan has already accumulated over ₹20 Lakhs this month. Now that he has added a WPT Trophy to his expanding repertoire of feats, Wadhawan’s lifetime MTT earnings have zoomed past ₹4.24 Crores.

Like the WPTOI Main Event, the ₹550 buy-in ₹15 Lakhs GTD WPT India Madness had also kicked off proceedings on November 16. The tourney garnered 2,273 total entries (1,452 unique and 821 re-entries) across seven starting flights, resulting in an overlay shortfall of ₹3.63 Lakhs.
A total of 365 players (Day 1A – 24, Day 1B – 46, Day 1C – 35, Day D – 66, Day 1E – 79, Day 1F – 53, Day 1G – 62) made it across to Day 2. The multiple stacks were removed, and 339 qualifying stacks entered Day 2 that started at 10 PM and went on till 2.40 AM.
Outlasting the field and the final 305 players who finished ITM was Vidur ‘bullgod89’ Singhal. Singhal, best known for his third-place finish at the 2018 WPT India Main Event worth₹30 Lakhs, got his hands on the WPT Trophy and the ₹2.25 Lakhs up-top after outplaying ‘arushiagarwal’ (2nd for ₹1.60 Lakhs) in the heads-up play.
The six-max FT also featured the likes of Pradip ‘Nit2Donk’ Ghosh (3rd for ₹1.14 Lakhs) and Gadhadhar ‘gd1921’ Behera (6th for ₹41,566).
