The WPTDeepStacks continues its European tour in Amsterdam from March 23 to 31, 2019 with the WPTDeepStacks Amsterdam festival coming to you from the Holland Casino Amsterdam Center.

For the fifth consecutive year, the World Poker Tour will be heading to the Holland Casino to provide jam-packed poker action for all levels, and this around the WPTDeepStacks takes center stage.

The poker festival features fifteen events and seven satellites allowing buy-ins for as low as €100. The festival will be highlighted by the €1,200 WPTDeepStacks Amsterdam Main Event and €2,200 WPTDS High Roller event.

WPT Amsterdam – May 2015

WPT Amsterdam €3,000 + 300 No Limit Hold’em Main Event – Season XIIID8A_9262
Champion: Farid Yachou – €201,000

Runner-up: Steven Warburton – €150,000

A field of 341 entrants created a total prize pool worth €992,310 at the Holland Casino, and it was to be Morocco’s Farid Yachou who went the distance to bank the €201,000 first-place prize.

Yachou defeated the UK’s Steven Warburton heads-up and latter took away €150,000 as runner-up. Kees van Brugge finished in third place for €68,000.

Canada’s Sorel Mizzi was the final table bubble boy, and Louis Salter took ninth place. America’s Jason Wheeler was among the final table names and took sixth place. It was a second final table of the week for Wheeler after he took down the opening event, the €5,700 + €300 High Roller. Wheeler ultimately got the better of Jack Salter, brother of Louis, and banked  €125,000 for the win.

The Main Event win for Yachou also gifted him a seat in the $15,000 No Limit Hold’em – WPT Tournament Of Champions, and he took full advantage 12 months later to come through a stellar 64 player field to win the $381,600 first-place prize at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood.

WPT Amsterdam – May 2016

WPT Amsterdam €3,000 + 300 No Limit Hold’em Main Event – Season XIVAndjelko Andrejevic

Champion: Andjelko Andrejevic – €200,000

Runner-up: Tomas Fara – €150,000

Serbia’s Andjelko Andrejevic beat France’s Tomas Fara to win the €200,000 first-place prize at the Holland Casino. Andrejevic battled through the 318 entrants field to take the biggest share of the €911,880 prize pool.

Three-time WPT Main Tour title winner Anthony Zinno took the bronze medal for €90,460.

Champion Andrejevic then continued his fine WPT form just a couple of months later and finished fourth in the $7,100 + 400 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship in San Jose for $334,500.

WPT Amsterdam – May 2017

WPT Amsterdam €3,000 + 300 No Limit Hold’em Main Event – Season XVI

Daniel Daniyar Wins WPT Amsterdam!
Champion: Daniel Daniyar – €152,600

Runner-up: Louis Salter – €106,710

The UK’s Louis Salter added to his impressive 2015 WPT Amsterdam result by making his second Main Event final table, and this time just missed out on victory. Salter ultimately fell in second place for €106,710, as Daniel Daniyar picked up the title alongside €152,600.

WPTDeepStacks € 1,350 + 150 No Limit Hold’em 

Thijs Menco

Champion:  Thijs Menco – €73,239

Runner-up: Pim van Wassenberg – €51,485

The WPTDeepStacks also graced the Holland Casino in 2017 as 243 entrants created a €316,159 total prize pool. Thijs Menco came through a heads-up battle against Pim van Wassenberg to bank the €73,239  top-prize, as Van Wassenberg collected €51,485.

Dennis Bijen took third place, and current WPTDeepStacks Europe POY Tobias Peters secured fourth place.

WPT Amsterdam – April 2018

WPT Amsterdam € 3,000 + 300 No Limit Hold’em Main Event – Season XVI

Rens Feenstra

Champion:  Florens ‘Rens’ Feenstra – €156,370

Runner-up:  Ema Zajmovic – €100,260

Dutchman Florens ‘Rens’ Feenstra topped a 207 player-field to win €156,370 after he defeated WPT Champions Club member Ema Zajmovic heads-up.

Zajmovic was looking for her second WPT Main Tour title in as many years after winning the WPT Main Event at the Playground Casino, Montreal in 2017. Since then, Zajmovic achieved another WPT Main Tour silver medal worth $424,511 after she lost out to Patrick Serda at the WPT Montreal festival in 2018.

On the day that saw Feenstra collect his first WPT title, fellow countryman Firoz Mangroe took third place for €60,140, Gary Miller banked €36,795 in fourth, and Louis Salter made a remarkable third WPT Amsterdam final table in four years to finish fifth place for €28,415.

There was also a cash for a certain Justin Bonomo, after the current all-time poker money list leader, took 16th place for €8,855.

WPTDeepstacks € 1,350 + 150 No Limit Hold’em Main Event

WPTDeepStacks Amsterdam Winner Christos Economides

Champion: Christos Economides – €75,760

Runner-up: Paul Theobald – €52,535

The return of the WPTDeepStacks at the Holland Casino saw 250 entrants create a € 326,375 total prize pool and it was to be Cyprus’ Christos Economides who took the glory.

Economides came into the final table second in chips, behind to only Farukh Tach, and after three-time WPT Main Tour title winner Chino Rheem had departed in fourth place, and the before mentioned Tach exited in third place, Economides pushed on to defeat Paul Theobald heads-up and is our defending champion in Amsterdam going into the 2019 event.

WPT High Roller  €5,700 + 300 No Limit Hold’em

Sam Greenwood

Champion: Sam Greenwood – €125,785
Runner-up: Clyde Tjauw Foe – €71,875

Sam Greenwood, who as of today has $14,711,827 in recorded live cashes and sits in 37th place on the all-time money list, defeated the 65 player-field to win the WPT Amsterdam High Roller event for €125,785.

America’s Ryan Riess (7th), Austria’s Thomas Mühlöcker (6th), Rainer Kempe (4th) and William Givens (3rd) also made the top spots.
