Bin Weng won his fifth title of 2023 on Sunday, taking down a $1,600 Mystery Bounty tournament at Wynn Las Vegas.

If you’ve been paying any attention to the tournament poker world in 2023, it will not shock you to learn that Bin Weng has once again returned to the winner’s circle.

In all honesty, considering his successes over the last 10-plus months, it might be more shocking that it’s his first win since July.

Weng won $159,078 for finishing first in a $1,600 Mystery Bounty event at Wynn Las Vegas, which wrapped up Sunday night. Weng also took home an additional $11,500 with 10 bounties captured along the way.

To say it’s been a remarkable year for Bin Weng would be an understatement. He’s won three major titles worth at least $1 million in large field events – $2,227,054 in the WPT EveryOne for One Drop in July (also at Wynn Las Vegas), $1,128,250 and the WPT title in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown in April, and $1 million on the dot at Borgata’s ‘The Return’ back in January.

Weng also made history by being the first player in the history by making back-to-back WPT Championship Event final tables in April, locking up a spot in the top six at both SHRPS and WPT Choctaw, whose final tables played out on consecutive days at HyperX Arena Las Vegas at the Luxor.

With those combined performances, Weng leads the WPT Season XXI Player of the Year race with three events left to be played.
