One of the storylines from last night’s WPT episode was the play of ClubWPT VIP member Steve Marsh, who won his way to WPT Venice Grand Prix by playing a qualifier tournament on ClubWPT.com

Last night’s WPT Venice Grand Prix episode on FSN (8pm & 11pm local time), saw the field of 155 entrants play down to the six players who would make up the truly “World” and hometown final table: Russian Rinat Bogdanov, Italian Alessandro Longobardi, Italian Andrea Dato, Dane Simon Ravnsbaek, Italian Gianluca Trebbi and Italian Andrea Carini.

By the end of the episode, we had lost Carini in 6th place for a €32,195 payday, leaving five players with the following chip counts:

1st – Simon Ravnsbaek – 1,700,000
2nd – Andrea Dato – 1,200,000
3rd – Rinat Bogdanov – 1,091,000
4th – Gianluca Trebbi – 408,000
5th – Alessandro Longobardi – 297,000

The last hand of the night saw Ravnsbaek double up for the second time in a row through Dato, catapulting him into the chip lead after being as low as fifth during the course of the final table so far.

Make sure to tune in to FSN at 8pm and 11pm local time next Sunday for WPT Venice Grand Prix: Part 2 as we get closer and closer to crowning a new WPT Champion and engraving a new name of the WPT Champions Cup.
