Recently, ALL IN spoke with Monster President Neal Bobrick and Monster VP of Marketing Tom Land about their partnership with the World Poker Tour. Monster, the official headphone of the WPT, commands a strong presence at every event on the World Poker Tour, along with the televised broadcast on FSN. In Season XIII, the World Poker Tour hosted the first-ever WPT Monster Invitational, a made-for-TV event that airs April 19 and features six of the best of the best. All six participants have reached a WPT final table and four are WPT Champions. With more than $60 million in combined career earnings, six combined WPT titles, and 13 combined bracelets between them, it is the winningest final table in WPT history.

ALL IN spoke with Land on camera, who showed off some of the great Monster products available to poker players and fans around the globe:

Here is an excerpt from the article on ALL IN, featuring Bobrick:

The poker world has tried for years to attract interest from outside brands, both as sponsors and as partners. There have been some minor successes here and there, but never anything of the paradigm-shifting variety. When Pliska took the reins of the WPT, one of his goals was to start merging his brand with some blue-chip brands from outside the world of gaming. Eventually, the search for that partner led to a company called Monster Products.

Monster has been around for a long time, and has easily established itself as a name synonymous with high-end audio technology. Most of us first became aware of Monster back in the early 1980s. You remember that super-thick audio cable that made your speakers sound so much better? Yup, that was Monster Cable. And the founder of that company, Noel Lee, was a genius that had (and still has) a drive for perfection that led him to innovations in audio technology that made Monster a frontrunner in the field.

Monster was no stranger to looking for suitable playmates in the big sandbox. Monster President Neal Bobrick explained to ALL IN the thinking of his company in the area of strategic partnerships: “We felt that the history and legacy of Monster made us attractive to companies in the market. And because we make a unique product, it made us an easy choice for brands like Adidas and Chanel who were looking for new alliances.”

“There was no better PR for Monster,” Bobrick said, “than to simply put headphones on the players and let them hear the difference.”
