Recently, we got a chance to catch up with Royal Flush Girl Danielle Ruiz and find out what makes her tick, some of her favorite things and what it’s like being one of the Royal Flush Girls. Below is the Q&A session with Danielle with some photos at the bottom from a recent photo shoot during WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio.
After being chosen as a Royal Flush Girl, how did you celebrate?
Well, I was at dinner having sushi when I got the call…so of course we had to order some sake to celebrate! I was extremely excited!
How many years have you been modeling?
For around 6 years now. I actually started out working as an intern in a clothing showroom in downtown Los Angeles, and while I was there to learn about the fashion industry, the showroom ended up using me as their fit model and flying me to all of the tradeshows. Everything fell into place after that.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I have yet to figure out my hidden talent. Apparently, it’s extremely hidden…
Who’s your celebrity crush?
Right now…Ryan Gosling. He’s such a babe!
Do you sing in the shower?
I love singing in the shower. It’s a very important part of my morning routine.
Favorite ice cream flavor?
I like every flavor, aside from the plain ones like Vanilla or Strawberry. From Pistachio to Chunky Monkey to Jamoca Almond Fudge! Yummmmm…
Compared to the other Royal Flush Girls, how’s your poker game?
Compared to my other lovely Royal Flush Girls, my poker game is pretty on point! Or at least I’d like to think so — LOL. I still have a lot to learn, but I’m excited for our upcoming Royal Flush Girls poker matches!
Poker players can be very superstitious — Are you?
Somewhat. I do believe in energy and the power of mind.
What is your favorite movie?
It’s tough to say, but Dumb and Dumber is way up there. I love movies that fill a room with good energy and keep people laughing! That movie cracks me up every time.
Most played song on your iTunes?
I actually don’t really have any songs that I play consistently. It really depends on what mood I’m in. I’m usually hitting the shuffle button most of the time.
When not hanging out at the Royal Flush Girls Social Bar, you enjoy ____?
When not on tour with the WPT, I’m hard at work on my clothing company and always spending as much time as possible with friends and family. Just enjoying life!!! 🙂
