Las Vegas, NV (May 26, 2015) — The 17th-annual Tiger Jam returned to Las Vegas, welcoming celebrities, sponsors, and rock stars for a memorable, star-studded weekend that raised more than $1 million for the college-access programs of the Tiger Woods Foundation. Kicking off the weekend Friday, May 15, sponsors and guests were treated to a private exhibition from Woods, followed by a round of golf at Shadow Creek.

After checking Shadow Creek off the bucket list, poker great Phil Hellmuth took to the microphone to emcee Tiger’s Poker Night presented by the World Poker Tour®, a Texas Hold ‘em charity tournament. The event welcomed professional poker players Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Negreanu, and WPT® commentators Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten, who gave the amateurs, including Mark Cuban, a run for their money. The competition at the tables heated up as Tiger Jam guest and amateur competitor Travis Blackwood won the tournament. Tiger’s Poker Night presented by the World Poker Tour generated more than $500,000 to go toward the foundation’s college-access programs.

Guests kicked off Saturday evening at an exclusive reception emceed by Chris Harrison, host ofThe Bachelor, at MGM Grand’s grand ballroom, mingling over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and participating in live and silent auctions filled with luxury items. Notable auction items included: A 2016 Acura MDX that sold for more than $50,000 and a Full Swing Golf Simulator that sold for more than $30,000. The silent and live auction items raised more than $575,000.

Following the auction, guests attended a private performance with Ed Sheeran at MGM Grand’s Producer’s Pool. After the main concert event, guests continued to celebrate the evening at Hakkasan for a post-concert party.

About Tiger Jam and the Tiger Woods Foundation
Since its creation in 1998, Tiger Jam has raised more than $17 million for programs of the Tiger Woods Foundation through its sold-out performances and one-of-a-kind auction items. Where you come from shouldn’t mean failure. At the Tiger Woods Foundation, it doesn’t. Our programs break the cycle of poverty with college-access opportunities for low-income students. At Tiger Woods Learning Center satellites across the country, scholars in grades 5-12 are immersed in an interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) curriculum. Here, they make the connection between school and career, while planning a road map to college. Tailored to the needs of the first-generation scholar, the Earl Woods Scholarship Program provides four-year college scholarships coupled with an unyielding support system. But we don’t stop there. Through dedicated mentors, professional development workshops and internships, our one-to-one philosophy ensures the success of our students in college and beyond. See how our scholars are smashing the cycle of poverty at tigerwoodsfoundation.org and @TWFoundation.
