After a successful event at Choctaw Casino Resort with more than 1,000 entries in the field and a prize pool of greater than $3.6 million, the World Poker Tour heads to the newly revamped Bicycle Hotel & Casino for the World Poker Tour® Legends of Poker.
The $4,000 Main Event will begin on Saturday, Aug. 27 with Day 1A at 12 p.m. local time. Day 1B will take place on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 12 p.m., and the tournament will conclude with the official WPT televised final table on Thursday, Sept. 1.
Competitors will be allowed a single re-entry per starting day, and players who qualify for Day 2 more than once will take the largest of the advancing stacks forward. Those who prefer to skip the starting portion of the event do have the option to buy in on Day 2, but must do so before play begins at 12 p.m. local time on Monday, Aug. 29. There will be no late registration on Day 2.
The Legends of Poker has been a part of the WPT for all 15 seasons of the tour, with combined Main Event prize pools of nearly $40 million.
The reigning Legends of Poker champion is Mike Shariati. Last season, Shariati defeated a field of 786 entries to earn the $675,942 top prize when he defeated Freddy Deeb in heads-up play. The win not only earned Shariati a life-changing payday, but it also helped propel him to victory in the Hublot WPT Player of the Year race. Shariati cashed three times last season on the WPT, including a second-place finish in the WPT L.A. Poker Classic worth $656,540.
