London, UK (April 4, 2016) – World Poker Tour® today announced that the WPT® National Tour will return to Iberia in Season XV with an innovative series of events presented by Multi Venue Series. The €675 + €75 buy-in, €1 million guaranteed MVS Presents: WPT® National Iberia Main Event will run at three different venues in Madrid, Algarve, and Barcelona from May 12-15.
The hosting venues – Gran Casino Madrid, Hotel Algarve Casino, and Casino Barcelona – will each run two starting flights on May 12 and 13, playing down until roughly 7 percent of the field is remaining at each venue on May 15th. Thanks to BRAVO’s top-of-the-line technology and Multi Venue Series’ innovations, the field will then combine at Gran Casino Madrid for the MVS Presents: WPT National Iberia Grand Finale from May 21-22 to crown a champion.
The next two editions of the MVS Presents: WPT National Iberia Main Event will conclude at Hotel Algarve Casino (October, 2016) and Casino Barcelona (January, 2017). The most recent WPT National Tour event in Spain attracted more than 500 entries, and recreational player Edu Garcia Freixa topped the field to earn €50,000.

This format allows the players to select the nearest casino to them for the early stages of the tournament, reducing travel costs, and then move to the final host casino only when they are well into the money, which will cover the cost. It’s a tricky tournament to manage operationally, but the combination of BRAVO’s technical capabilities and WPT’s expert tournament direction makes this historic, groundbreaking event possible.”
