Los Angeles, CA (June 5, 2017) – World Poker Tour® today announced WPT® Brasil presented by Brasil Poker Live, bringing the tour to South America for a second time in 2017.
The event will take place at Infinity Blue Resort & Spa Camboriú Brasil, in partnership with Aconcagua Poker. The R$1,500 Main Event is scheduled for August 23-29 and features a R$2 million guarantee. Full schedule details will be announced shortly.
World Poker Tour and Aconcagua Poker will utilize the services of Kings Series of Poker for this event. Kings Series of Poker worked with Aconcagua Poker on a similar buy-in event last year with a R$1.5 million guarantee, which attracted a field of 1,780 entries.

Known as home to some of the best beaches in the world, Camboriú is the perfect location for a poker getaway. Infinity Blue Resort & Spa is located right on the shore of “Praia dos Amores” and just a short five minutes from one of the hottest cities along the Santa Catarina coast.

The R$1,500 Main Event features a reentry format, with registration open until the sixth level of the event. Online satellites begin June 12 on Brasil Poker Live, part of the Aconcagua Poker Network.
WPT Brasil presented by Brasil Poker Live is the World Poker Tour’s second event in South America scheduled for 2017. On May 10, WPT announced its first-ever televised event in the South American region as part of the WPTDeepStacks™ Uruguay festival.
Please note that WPT Brasil is not considered an official event as part of the WPT Main Tour. The winner will not be awarded an entry into the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions, and players will not accrue WPT Player of the Year points. Official WPT Main Tour events currently consist of WPT events with buy-ins of $3,500-$20,000.
