Los Angeles, CA (January 23, 2018) – World Poker Tour® today announced the full schedule for the Season XVI WPT® Tournament of Champions festival. The season-ending extravaganza is scheduled to take place May 17-26, 2018, at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
The rake-free, $15,000 buy-in WPT Tournament of Champions kicks off Thursday, May 24, and is exclusive to members of the WPT Champions Club. The tournament spans three days of play, with the final table to take place at the new Esports Arena Las Vegas at Luxor Hotel and Casino. The WPT Tournament of Champions final table will be filmed for broadcast as part of WPT’s Season XVI television schedule.
Preceding the WPT Tournament of Champions will be the final WPT Main Tour event of Season XVI, the first-ever WPT Bobby Baldwin Classic. This four-day event is named in honor of Bobby Baldwin, president and COO of ARIA.
Prior to his position at ARIA, Baldwin served as president and COO of some of the most storied casino properties in Las Vegas, including the Golden Nugget, Bellagio, and The Mirage. In addition to his success as an executive, Baldwin has many accolades on the poker felt. He boasts more than $2.3 million in earnings, including a win in the 1978 WSOP Main Event, which at the time made him the event’s youngest champion.
The WPT Bobby Baldwin Classic features a buy-in of $10,000 and kicks off Sunday, May 20. The event is the final opportunity for players to win their way into the prestigious WPT Tournament of Champions. The Season XVI WPT Bobby Baldwin Classic allows players the option of a single re-entry and will be streamed on PokerGO.
