Los Angeles, CA (August 30, 2018) – World Poker Tour® and partypoker LIVE today announced the schedule for the highly anticipated Season XVII WPT® Montreal festival. The series kicks off the new four-year partnership between WPT and partypoker LIVE and is the first of its kind that will include the three major components of the World Poker Tour’s offering – WPT500™, WPTDeepStacks™, and WPT Main Tour.
The schedule for the WPT Montreal festival is below:
The Season XVII WPT Montreal festival officially kicks off Sunday, October 21, with the first of three online starting flights for WPT500 Montreal, featuring a C$550 buy-in and C$1 million guarantee. One online starting flight will be held per day from October 21-23 on partypoker. The live portion of WPT500 Montreal kicks off Friday, October 26, at Playground Poker Club. The WPT500 Montreal final table plays out on Tuesday, October 30.
“We’re thrilled partypoker LIVE and WPT have agreed to a four-year partnership – two iconic brands of poker coming together to offer players all over the world more choice of where to play,” Mike Sexton, Chairman of partypoker, said. “We’re excited to announce the first event will take place at Playground Poker Club in Montreal, where we will work together to offer three components of the World Poker Tour – WPT Main Tour, WPTDeepStacks, and WPT500.”
The Season XVII WPT Montreal Main Event also features an online starting flight, taking place Sunday, October 28, on partypoker. The live portion of this C$5,300 buy-in WPT Montreal Main Event starts on Monday, October 29. All players that advance to Day 2 will combine into one field for Thursday, November 1. The final table of the WPT Montreal Main Event takes place on Sunday, November 4, with a live stream of the event available from the WPT and partypoker LIVE, through the My partypoker LIVE app.
The festival also includes a WPTDeepStacks event, as poker’s premier mid-major tournament circuit comes to Playground Poker Club for the first time ever. The WPTDeepStacks Montreal Main Event has a C$1,650 buy-in and five starting flights.
In addition to those three can’t-miss tournaments, the WPT Montreal festival will be offering a three-day C$10,300 High Roller, with a C$1 million guarantee, November 2-4.
Players will be able to buy into all events will partypoker LIVE Dollars (PP LIVE Dollars). PP LIVE Dollars are a flexible currency that can be won in satellites on partypoker and used by players to pay for event buy-ins, travel, hotels, and even visas. Players now have two years to use their PP LIVE Dollars and will automatically be entered into a $1M Leaderboard which runs throughout the 2018-19 poker season. At the end of the season the $1 million will be divided up between the top 100 players.
PP LIVE Dollars satellites will run at a weekly guarantee of more than $1 million, allowing for plenty of opportunities to win PP LIVE Dollars for this event.
