World Poker Tour® Heads to St. Maarten’s Casino Royale for Brand New $3,500 Buy-In Tournament

With the days getting shorter and the weather getting colder, November is the perfect time of year to head south for a little rest and recreation. That’s why World Poker Tour is giving its players a chance to soak up some much-needed sunshine while enjoying an exciting poker vacation at the new WPT Caribbean event taking place on beautiful St. Maarten from November 19 – 24.

Filmed for broadcast on FOX Sports Network and sponsored by ClubWPT.com, WPT Caribbean is a $3,500 buy-in tournament featuring two Day 1s with re-entry. “World Poker Tour is always looking for ways to give our players experiences they won’t find anywhere else,” said WPT President Adam Pliska. “That’s why we love events like WPT Caribbean which combines a world-class poker tournament with a beautiful location, and enables us to highlight all the amazing experiences our players have both on and off the felt.”

Known as “The Friendly Island,” St. Maarten is just a short flight from South Florida and is shared by both the French and the Dutch. The unique arrangement provides visitors with a wide range of cultural and entertainment options to explore when they are away from the poker tables. Because each day’s play begins at 4pm, players will also be able to maximize their time in the sunshine where they can enjoy a variety of water sports such as snorkeling, surfing, and jet skiing. Players who prefer to stay on dry land can go horseback riding around the island, play golf, or just relax at one of the resorts outdoor pools.

WPT Caribbean players who book their rooms through World Poker Tour will also enjoy an all-inclusive stay at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino that covers all meals and drinks during their time at the resort. In addition, all players are invited to attend a beach party starting at 6pm on Wednesday, November 20 where they can relax and mingle with WPT cast members including Vince Van Patten, and WPT Royal Flush Girls Ivy Teves and Tugba Ercan.
