Los Angeles, CA (August 12, 2017) – World Poker Tour® crowned its Season XV Monster® WPT® Tournament of Champions winner on Sunday, April 9 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Daniel Weinman, a 29-year-old poker pro from Atlanta, Georgia, topped a field of 66 WPT Champions Club® members to capture the prestigious title, $381,500 in first-place prize money, a 2018 Audi S5 Coupe, and more.

“I feel incredible,” Weinman said after the victory. “This was such a tough tournament, and to come out on top is super special.”

Weinman came into the televised final table with the chip lead and never surrendered the top spot, eventually defeating Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi in heads-up play to win the event.

In addition to the lion’s share of the prize pool and 2018 Audi S5 Coupe, Weinman earned a pair of Rose Gold Wireless Over-Ear Element Headphones from Monster, a Hublot® King Power Unico Carbon and Red watch, a custom premium poker table from BBO Poker Tables, a seat in Tiger’s Poker Night Presented by World Poker Tour, and a one-week stay with Wyndham® Extra Holidays.

“I like it, I think it’s awesome,” Weinman said of the WPT Tournament of Champions event. “It’s pretty special getting to play against all of the other champions. Obviously, everything that all the sponsors put up is so incredible. The extra prize money and extra prizes, you can’t really ask for anything better … the Audi will be a nice upgrade for me.”

Mizrachi, a two-time WPT champion from the state of Florida and playing in front of a large rail of friends and family, was appearing at the Monster WPT Tournament of Champions for the second year in a row. This time around, Mizrachi improved upon his third-place finish from last season’s Monster WPT Tournament of Champions, and earned $218,000.

“Sixty-six of the world’s greatest champions descended upon Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for the Season XV Monster WPT Tournament of Champions to celebrate the WPT Champions Club, and it was Daniel Weinman, winner of the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open in January, crowned the champion of champions,” said Adam Pliska, CEO of the World Poker Tour. “The WPT thanks Larry Frank and his team at Seminole for hosting the Season XV Monster WPT Tournament of Champions, our sponsors for their gracious contributions, and all of the players in attendance who helped elevate this special tradition.”

The Season XV Monster WPT Tournament of Champions generated a prize pool of $1.09 million, with the top nine places reaching the money. Rounding out the official WPT final table of six were Daniel Santoro in third place, David Ormsby in fourth place, Erik Seidel in fifth place, and Dylan Wilkerson in sixth place.
