Los Angeles, CA (March 27, 2019) – World Poker Tour® today looks forward to the Season XVII WPT® Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL. The WPT Main Event, as part of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown festival, will take place from April 12-16, and carries a $3,500 buy-in and $3 million guarantee. The final table will be filmed for FOX Sports Regional Networks on May 30 at HyperX Esports Arena inside Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
The WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown is one of the largest events on the World Poker Tour Main Tour schedule each season, and holds the record for the two largest fields in WPT Main Event history. In Season XII, Eric Afriat beat 1,795 entries to win the first-place prize of more than $1 million. Last season, Scott Margereson defeated the biggest field of Season XVI, totalling 1,309 entries, when he won the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Main Event.
This season’s Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown series carries notable events leading up to the WPT Main Event. On March 31, Seminole Hard Rock hosts a $390 buy-in 20-seat guaranteed satellite into the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. Between April 10 and April 13, Seminole Hard Rock is guaranteeing 90 additional WPT Main Event seats.
On April 6, LearnWPT is sponsoring a Ladies Brunch at Seminole Hard Rock with WPT Commentator and Champions Club member Tony Dunst serving as host of the event. Following the Ladies Brunch, the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Ladies Event takes place with a $250 buy-in and $10,000 guarantee attached.
Additional highlights on the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown schedule include the $570 buy-in opening event with a $1 million guarantee from April 4-8, a $50,000 buy-in Super High Roller event that also has a $1 million guarantee on April 10, and the $25,500 High Roller on April 15.
