Los Angeles, CA (May 16, 2019) – World Poker Tour® today announced the WPT® Gardens Poker Festival as the first event on the WPT Main Tour of Season XVIII. The $5,000 buy-in event will take place from July 20-25, 2019 at The Gardens Casino, in Hawaiian Gardens, CA. WPT Gardens Poker Festival players can also look forward to a brand-new BMW X1, courtesy of The Gardens Casino, to be awarded as a prize to the eventual champion.
The first-ever WPT Gardens Poker Festival took place in July 2018 to open Season XVII. Simon Lam defeated a field of 584 entries to win the $565,000 first-place prize. Season XVII also saw The Gardens Casino host the first-ever $10,000 buy-in WPT Gardens Poker Championship, which attracted a field of 253 entries and resulted in Frank Stepuchin winning the event for $549,000 at the final table, played at HyperX Esports Arena in Las Vegas.
The Gardens Casino, an official WPT Tournament Room, will be running another edition of the popular WPT Satellite Spectacular leading up the WPT Gardens Poker Festival, with five seats guaranteed. In Season XVII, The Gardens Casino awarded 17 seats to WPT Main Tour events across the United States.
