World Poker Tour® will head to Florida for the first time this year when the WPT® Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship kicks off at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek starting February 7.
Long one of the WPT’s most popular events, this year’s tournament features a $3,500 buy-in and a prize pool guaranteed to be worth at least $1 million, which is sure to help attract a star-studded field to sunny South Florida. Players confirmed for this year’s event include David Tuthill, David Paredes, Justin Zaki, Zo Karim, WPT Ones to Watch members Jeff Gross and Aaron Massey, WPT Champions Club member Sean Jazayeri, and defending champion Matt Giannetti.
“As the first major poker tour to bring high-stakes tournament action to Florida, WPT has a strong and proud history of creating worthy champions in the Sunshine State,” said WPT President, Adam Pliska. “As always, we expect a great turnout at the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open, and look forward to initiating another worthy player in our exclusive Champions Club.”
The WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship caps a 14-event series of tournaments starting January 29 that includes a wide variety of popular games such as Omaha, Pot-Limit Omaha, and a six-max bounty event. The Championship event’s final table will be live streamed on WPT.com on Tuesday, February 11, and will feature commentary provided by WPT champion and Raw Deal analyst Tony Dunst.
