Three-Day Event Takes Tour Back to Ontario and Features a CAD $5,000 Buy-In
World Poker Tour® returns to Ontario, Canada for the first time in five years when the WPT® Fallsview Poker Classic begins at the beautiful Fallsview Resort on February 22.
Featuring a CAD $5,000 buy-in, this three-day event takes WPT to the edge of Niagara Falls where players will enjoy dramatic views and thrilling poker action at one of the season’s most highly anticipated new events.
“Hockey may be Canada’s national sport, but poker is arguably the country’s favorite game,” said WPT President Adam Pliska. “Our last visit to Fallsview produced one of the best received events in our history and we’re proud to return to this world-class location in response to our players’ requests. We expect a large field and incredible poker action over the course of this unique, three-day event.”
The WPT Fallsview Poker Classic caps a three-tournament series featuring a CAD $1,100 event starting February 18 and a CAD $2,500 tournament beginning Thursday, February 20. Players confirmed for the CAD $5,000 event include Vanessa Selbst, Christian Harder, David Peters, and WPT Champions Club members Scott Clements, Shawn Cunix, and Jonathan Little. Outside the casino, players and their families can enjoy many of the area’s popular tourist activities including tours of the falls and local wineries, or just explore the historic town of Niagara on the Lake which is filled with local bars and restaurants catering to all tastes and budgets.
