Televised Championship Event Final Table Will Be Live Streamed on www.WPT.com Starting at 4:30pm PT, Thursday, February 28

World Poker Tour’s cameras will roll for the first time in 2013 when the WPT LA Poker Classic Championship Event begins at Commerce Casino on Saturday, February 23.

In a dramatic ending apropos of Hollywood, the Season X WPT LA Poker Classic was won by Sean Jazayeri, an amateur player and WPT Boot Camp alumni who skillfully maneuvered his way through a final table filled with some of the hottest young guns in poker. For his win, Jazayeri took home more than $1.3 million and had his name immortalized on the WPT Champions Cup alongside past LAPC winners, including Gus Hansen, Michael Mizrachi, Cornel Cimpan, Antonio Esfandiari, and Phil Ivey.

This year’s $10,000 buy-in event begins at 12 noon on Saturday, February 23 and promises to carry on the WPT LA Poker Classic’s tradition of generating some of the tour’s richest prize pools and most talented fields, with pros such as WPT Season X Player of the Year Joe Serock, WPT Season 11 Ones to Watch members Jason Koon and Shawn Deeb, and WPT Champions Club members Scott Seiver, Hoyt Corkins, Barry Greenstein, Freddy Deeb, and Noah Schwartz already committed to attend.

“As the culmination of six weeks of live tournaments at Commerce Casino, the WPT LA Poker Classic Championship is consistently one of the most popular events on tour,” said WPT CEO Steve Heller. “World Poker Tour is thrilled to be broadcasting this event for the eleventh consecutive season and we look forward continuing our relationship with the Commerce Casino for many years to come.”

Sponsored by ClubWPT.com, the final table will be recorded for broadcast on FOX Sports Networks and will feature WPT Commentators Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten, along with WPT anchor Kimberly Lansing and the WPT Royal Flush Girls. Tony Dunst will provide insight into some of the tournament’s key hands in his Raw Deal segment and will serve as host of the final table Live Stream on www.WPT.com beginning at 4:30pm PT on Thursday, February 28.

Off the felt, all WPT LA Poker Classic Championship Event players are invited to join the WPT cast at a players party sponsored by Commerce Casino, starting at 7pm on Friday, February 22. On Saturday, February 23, WPT Champions Club members are invited to join the WPT cast in a private suite at the Staples Center to watch the LA Clippers take on the Utah Jazz. Finally, on Sunday, February 22, Commerce Casino’s Facebook fans are invited to participate in the WPT RFG Poker Challenge where they can play poker cash games against the beautiful WPT Royal Flush Girls.
