The Borgata Hotel & Casino has earned a reputation for drawing the largest fields in World Poker Tour history and the 11th-annual WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship beginning on September 15 is gearing up to be another banner event.
Having attracted more than 1,000 entrants for each of the past three years, the 2013 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship event features a $3,500 buy-in and a massive $3 million guarantee, making it a must-play tournament for every serious poker professional and aspiring enthusiast. With two Day 1s and unlimited re-entries through the first six levels of play, the tournament promises that each entrant has the best chance possible to earn their way to the televised final table and have their name engraved on the prestigious WPT Champions Cup.
“Each year the Borgata builds upon its reputation as a player-friendly property and a favored WPT Main Tour event,” said WPT President, Adam Pliska. “The best-in-class property delivers a tournament experience that is fun, exceptionally well-run, and filled with poker’s greatest talent. We look forward to adding a new name to the roster of past champions that includes Daniel Negreanu, Olivier Busquet, Dwyte Pilgrim, and defending champion, Ben Hamnett.”
Sponsored by ClubWPT.com, the main event’s televised final table will be recorded on September 20 for broadcast on FOX Sports Network in early 2014. Away from the tables, players at the WPT Borgata Poker Open can enjoy fine dining in one of Borgata’s many restaurants such as Izakaya or Bobby Flay Steak, and enjoy the nightlife at some of Atlantic City’s hottest venues, including B Bar, Gypsy Bar, and mur.mur.
On September 19, WPT Champions Club members are invited to join WPT cast members Mike Sexton, Vince Van Patten, and WPT Royal Flush Girls Angelique Velez and Tugba Ercan for a fun-filled evening at The Burlesque Show at The Music Box theater.
