World Poker Tour’s annual WPT Cruise set sail from Port Canaveral, Florida last week, providing 223 passengers with an amazing poker vacation in the Caribbean.

Sailing on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas, the WPT Cruise explored the Bahamas and Virgin Islands, with sun-filled stops in CocoCay, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas, and evening filled with exciting poker action including a wide variety of tournaments and cash games to keep everyone entertained. Some of the highlights included the $220 WPT Cruise Main Event, which attracted 123 players and generated a prize pool of nearly $25,000.

When all was said and done, Larry Osteen, who started the final table as one of the short stacks, successfully navigated his way through the competitive field to capture the title and more than $8,000 in prize money. Jenny Vars collected more than $4,600 for her second-place finish, while John Gordon took home just over $3,000 for third.

Other big winners on the week included Sean Whelan who took home nearly $11,500 after capturing the $500 High-Roller title. Stephen Bongo claimed second place and more than $6,800 while WPT Season X Player of the Year and celebrity guest, Joe Serock, took home nearly $4,200 for third.

Off the felt, cruise participants hung out with the WPT cast all week – and all over the ship – as they lounged by the pool with the Royal Flush Girls, played basketball with Vince Van Patten, and even went ballroom dancing with Mike Sexton.
