WPT Online India: Manish Adnani Headlines Monday Action

Nov 10, 2020

Recap provided by PokerGuru.in.

It was yet another day on the virtual felts that was drenched in overlays. So much so that even the guarantee-smashing inaugural WPT Online India (WPTOI) series saw its big-ticket tourneys failing to meet their advertised guarantees.

Here is a recap of the Monday tournaments!

The fifth day of the WPT Online India was headlined by the ₹15 Lakhs GTD WPT Monday Feature that offered the most massive prize pool guarantee of the day. The tourney ran for more than six hours and collected 444 entries – falling ₹79,200 short of its listed guarantee to become the series’ first WPT Trophy event to register an overlay.

Gagandeep ‘gaganhyd’ Singh conquered the title and top prize of ₹3.67 Lakhs, while Rachit ‘baba_ramdev’ Soni finished runner-up for ₹2.17 Lakhs. Besides taking down the WPT Monday Feature, Gangandeep also cashed the WPT Monster Turbo (14th for ₹11,375), taking his overall Monday score to ₹3.78 Lakhs. Singh currently has lifetime online earnings of ₹77.58 Lakhs.

Adda52’s Table For 6 was the other marquee tourney on the WPTOI schedule last night. Offering ₹7 Lakhs in prize pool guarantees, the ₹2,750 entry buy-in event pulled in 307 participants and amassed a prize pool worth ₹7.68 Lakhs. 2020 India Poker Champion Rubin ‘kornkif’ Labroo triumphed over the crowded field to clinch his career-first WPT Online title, along with a cool ₹1.58 Lakhs payday. A heads-up chop witnessed Sanjay ‘Floppednuts’ Kumar rake in ₹1.49 Lakhs for his runner-up finish. Labroo is presently sitting atop ₹5.3 Crores in online earnings, of which ₹2.01 Crores he has earned this year.

Adnani, was in phenomenal form yesterday. He kicked off the day by taking the Morning Adda for ₹14,500 before making a 15th place finish in the WPT Hustle for ₹2,039. He came whiskers close to claiming back-to-back WPT Online title in the WPT Classic but ultimately fell one spot short of the win, placing second for ₹76,250. The event was championed by ‘anand1895’ for ₹1.28 Lakhs.
