The prize pool for the partypoker presents: WPT500 at ARIA Resort & Casino was guaranteed to be at least $1 million, a mark that was easily cleared earlier this week. But as the field grew in size, the prize pool increased — and with Sunday’s turbo flights, it neared $2 million.

Even though the prize pool easily surpassed the guarantee, the World Poker Tour wanted it to be even higher. In turn, the WPT is adding money to increase the prize pool to an even $2 million, a number worthy of this great WPT event.

Angelica Hael, VP of Global Tour Management, said, “We are incredibly honored and humbled to have the support and commitment of the players for this outstanding event. Being so close to doubling the $1,000,000 guarantee, we are proud to contribute to the prize pool to take us to the $2 million mark.”
