Season XVIII of the ever-popular World Poker Tour continues with the WPTDeepStacks Berlin, the first European stop of 2020. Poker fans can head down to the Casino Spielbank Berlin, where the tournament will be held for the third year running.
Seven days of poker action will commence from January 7-13, 2020 and there will be numerous tournaments on offer throughout the week, culminating in the €1,200 Main Event. Kicking off on January 10, the flagship event, which has a €500,000 guaranteed prize pool, is certainly not to be missed.
Other highlights of the series include the €400 Opener, €550 NLH Bounty, €880 Progressive Bounty, €2,200 High Roller, €330 Omaha event and €99 Ladies Event.
The Main Event will play out over four days, with three starting flights on offer. Players start with a 30,000 chip-stack and, with the exception of the turbo Day 1c flight, blinds will be 40 minutes long. From Day 2 the remaining players will enjoy the comfort of one-hour levels right through to heads-up, when they will be reduced to 30 minutes. Breaks take place every two hours.
There will be unlimited re-entries available throughout each of the starting flights, until late registration closes at the start of Level 10, giving hopefuls plenty of opportunities to challenge for the title.
Last year, it was Thomas Hofmann who took down the title, the trophy, and €129,510 in winnings after beating Eldaras Rafijevas heads-up in a well-fought-out battle. Finishing atop of the 645-strong field netted the Swiss the biggest result of his poker career to date, as well as securing him a place in the wpt.com record books.
