The WPTDeepStacks is delighted to confirm its return to Marrakech across September 14-22 2019 with the poker action stretching across nine days at the Casino de Marrakech. It will be the seventh consecutive year for the WPT in the popular Moroccan city and the third featuring the WPTDeepStacks.

Casino de Marrakech is a part of the luxurious Es Saadi Resort, located just a 10-minute drive from Marrakesh Menara Airport, and boosts hotels, restaurants, bars, theatre, and spas for a diverse experience.  If you are looking for sun, culture, and relaxation to go with your time at the tables, then Marrakech is the perfect setting for you.

Francois Tosques

Back in September 2018, Frenchman Francois Tosques (pictured) defeated Jaouad Abida heads-up to win the Season 18 WPTDeepStacks Marrakech Main Event for 1,000,000 MAD (€91,411), after 431 entries created a prize pool of more than 4.9 million MAD (€450,000).

Tosques went to become a familiar name throughout the WPTSDS season, also cashing in the Main Events at Deauville, Berlin, and Barcelona before ultimately taking the runner-up spot in the WPTDS Europe POY Leaderboard for €3,500 of WPT buy-in credits.

Marrakech has always been a popular destination for the World Poker Tour, and back in October 2017, the inaugural WPTDeepStacks Marrakech Main Event was won by Smain Mamouni for €88,496, after he came through a then record-breaking WPTDS European field of 433 entries.

The highlight of the 2019 festival will, of course once again, be the WPTDeepStacks 13,200 MAD (approx. €1,200) Marrakech Main Event, which will run across September 19-22.

Day 1a will kick-off at 4 pm local time on Thursday 19, with Day 1b commencing at 1 pm on Friday 20. The remaining players will return to battle at Noon on Saturday, 21, with the final table of nine set for 2 pm on Sunday, 22, where a champion will be crowned.

The action in Marrakech will kick-off with the WPTDS Opener which comes with a 4,000 MAD (approx. €370) buy-in and will run over September 14-15, followed by the WPTDS Warm-Up across 17-18, featuring a 6,000 MAD (approx. €550) buy-in.

WPTDS 20,000 MAD High Roller (approx. €1,850) will take place over 18-19, and the WPTDS 30,000 MAD Super High Roller (approx. €2,770) will be a part of the closing events on Sunday, 23.

Also on the jam-packed Marrakech schedule will be Freezeout, Bounty, 8-Max, Monster Stack, PKO, 6-Max, Turbo, and Short Deck events, as well as satellites running across the week to gain reduced entry into the Main Event, High Roller and Super High Roller tournaments. WPTDeepStacks Marrakech will be a festival for all!
