WPTDeepStacks returned to Oceanside, California earlier this month for WPTDeepStacks San Diego, at Oceans Eleven Casino! One of my favorite stops on the tour, San Diego always delivers with perfect weather, big tournament fields, and plenty of action.
Along with the tournament, this year the WPT crew stopped by Vital Climbing Gym and I was fortunate enough to catch an epic sunset at the historic Oceanside Pier right before a storm rolled in. Check out a full photo recap of my week below!
Maxwell Young wins WPTDeepStacks San Diego for $64,215
The WPTDeepStacks San Diego final table alongside the Oceans Eleven tournament staff and players: Maxwell Young, Frank Kelly, Adam Demersseman, Jonathan Ingalls, Shivan Abdine, Luke Nguyen, Daniel Strelitz, and Eric Jefferies.
Daniel Strelitz headed into the final table of the WPTDeepStacks San Diego event with an opportunity to be the first player with both a WPT Main Tour title and a WPTDeepStacks title. Unfortunately for Strelitz, he would bow out in 7th place.
Professional poker player Chris Brand tagged along with the WPT crew at Vital Climbing Gym in Oceanside, California.
Vital Climbing Gym’s own, Jay Caguioa, showed us around and even demonstrated the toughest climb in the gym!
Even Oceanside locals needed a few moments to take in the gorgeous sunset by the Oceanside Pier. I was very fortunate to catch the sunset before a storm, which generated some crazy clouds for an amazing view!
