World Poker Tour’s cameras will roll for the first time in Season XII when the WPT Legends of Poker stops at LA’s iconic Bicycle Casino beginning August 29.

A staple on tour since Season I, the WPT Legends of Poker is one of poker’s premier events, consistently drawing huge fields filled with some of the game’s best-known players, including past event winners Doyle Brunson, Dan Harrington, Andy Frankenberger, Will Failla, and defending champion Josh Hale.

Sponsored by ClubWPT.com, this season’s Main Event is the highlight of more than a month’s worth of exciting tournament poker action featuring 30 separate events. With a $3,700 buy-in and three Day 1s with the option to enter once each starting day, the WPT Legends of Poker Main Event will provide players with numerous chances to compete for this prestigious title and to have their names permanently etched onto the WPT Champions Cup.

“WPT Legends of Poker is a must-attend event for serious players and an important event to start off the season,” said WPT President Adam Pliska. “Players love the hospitality at the Bike, and fans are never disappointed as the biggest names in poker help kick off another season of the World Poker Tour.”

On Thursday, September 5, WPT’s cameras will roll again at the Bicycle Casino for the WPT Foundation Ladies’ Night Invitational. This special, invitation-only, televised event will award the winner with a $25,000 entry to the 2014 WPT World Championship. In addition, WPT Foundation will, on each player’s behalf, award a portion of $20,000 in guaranteed donations to six, prestigious women’s charities. Showcasing five of World Poker Tour’s favorite female players, the televised WPT Foundation Ladies’ Night Invitational final table will include, WPT final tableists Vanessa Rousso and Lily Killetto, poker sensation and philanthropist Liz Lieu, emerging poker talent Jessica Dawley, and WPT’s own Kimberly Lansing.

Organized in connection with the Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS), the last seat at the six-handed, televised final table will be awarded to the winner of the LIPS US Ladies Poker Championship, a $290 qualifier tournament held at the Bicycle Casino on Sunday, September 1 where entrants can play alongside WPT Royal Flush Girls Brittany Bell and Danielle Ruiz, who will each have special bounties for the player who eliminates them from the tournament.

“WPT Foundation is delighted to support the players’ worthy charities in what promises to be one of the best and most watched TV final tables in World Poker Tour history,” Pliska said.

Both the WPT Legends of Poker Main Event and the WPT Foundation Ladies’ Night Invitational will be broadcast on FOX Sports Networks in 2014.
