On Sunday, Frenchman Sebastien Ta was crowned the bwin.be WPT National Brussels champion, outlasting a field of 457 entries to capture the top prize of €100,000. Ta defeated Maria Lampropoulou heads up, who earned €68,200 for her efforts.
Lampropoulou lead the way for the majority of the final table, until she reached heads-up play with Ta, who qualified online. On the final hand, Lampropoulou was all in and at risk on a jack-high flop with pocket aces, but Ta had flopped top set with pocket jacks. The monstrous hand held up, and Ta was the winner.
The €1,200 buy-in bwin.be WPT National Main Event Day 1A kicked off on February 25, and attracted many online qualifiers from bwin.be, in addition to some of the game’s greats from across Europe. With 457 entries, the prize pool ballooned to €487,619, and the top 54 players all earned a minimum of €2,250. Each member of the final table earned a minimum of €20,200.

The High Roller attracted 115 players, including Alexandre Reard and Laurent Polito, who both reached the the final day. Dutchman Antonius Krijn was the winner, earning €50,000.Other notable players participated in the festival, including Pierre Neuville, Michel Abecassis or Ivan Luca.
