Day 2 has come to a close at the WPT Borgata Poker Open and 127 players remain from the field of 1,027. James Gilbert ended the night as the chip leader with a stack of 665,500. He is joined at the top of the chip counts by Curt Kohlberg (630,000), Maurice Hawkins (609,500), Matt Affleck (567,000), Andrew Spears (557,500), and Victor Figueroa (531,500).

Some of the notables still in the hunt but further back in the chip counts include David Paredes (341,500), Joe Kuether (298,000), WPT Champions Club member Nick Schulman (298,000), Jamie Kerstetter (205,500), Shannon Shorr (191,000), Sofia Lovgren (87,000), and defending WPT Borgata Poker Open champion Darren Elias (72,000).

Familiar faces that did not advance today included ClubWPT Qualifiers George Manikas and Andy Machover, along with WPT Champions Club members Aaron Mermelstein, Andy Hwang, Olivier Busquet, Lee Markholt, John Hennigan, Jared Jaffee, Ben Hamnett, Anthony Zinno, Amir Babakhani, and WPT Raw Deal Analyst Tony Dunst.

Registration closed at the start of play today, and with 38 players taking advantage of the late registration, the total field size was 1,027, creating a total prizepool of $3,287,427. The final 100 players will finish in the money, guaranteed at least $6,575 each, while the winner will earn $723,227.
