Season XIV of the World Poker Tour kicked off on Friday with Day 1A of the partypoker WPT Canadian Spring Championship. A total of 136 players took to the felt and after 10 levels of play, 50 players bagged up and will return for Day 2 on Sunday.

Leading the Day 1A survivors is Mike Leah (pictured) with 265,300. Also bagging up were Rene Bourbeau (249,100), Pascal Lefrancois (189,100), Ratharam Sivagnanam (184,000), Ami Alibay (108,800), Champions Club member Paul Klann (108,000), partypoker qualifier Tim Reilly (92,000), Ari Engel (68,000), Eddy Sabat (66,100), Matt Marafioti (37,100), and Champions Club member Dylan Wilkerson (33,200).

Among those who failed to survive the day include Jonathan Duhamel, Jeff Gross, Sorel Mizzi, and Champions Club members Marvin Rettenmaier, Brian Altman, Eric Afriat, and Matt Salsberg. Players are allowed one entry per starting day, so these players are free to try again on Day 1B.
