WPT Korea final table

The WPT Korea Main Event final table was set on Friday after continued action from Grand Jeju Paradise Casino. Just six players remain in competition for the KRW 56.992 million (approx. $50,000) first-place prize, and it’s China’s Yi Shun Ji with the lead heading into Saturday’s finale with a stack of 1.343 million in chips.

Joining Shun Ji at the final table will be Day 1a chip leader Tsun Ming Chan with a stack of 1.235 million and Day 2 chip leader Albert Paik with 1.068 million. Shun Ji, Ming Chan, and Paik are the only three players with seven-figure stacks, and the trio has quite a bit of a lead over the other three payers at the final table – Jessica Bian Hong Yang (581,000), Jia Liang Xiao (547,000), and Iori Yogo (397,000).

Each of the final six have locked up a minimum payout of KRW 11.412 million (approx. $10,000).

When Day 2 kicked off, 26 players remained from the 175-entry field. Only 21 of those would go home with a cash result, though, and it was Bryan Huang who finished as the tournament’s “bubble boy” in 22nd place. Huang, who finished in sixth place in the Season XVI WPT Beijing Main Event earlier this year, was all in with pocket nines against the pocket aces of Bian Hong Yang. The aces held up for Bian Hong Yang, and Huang was eliminated.

Notable finishes in the money included Hao Chen, winner of the WPT National Sanya Main Event, in seventh place and Poker King Club’s very own Winfred Yu in ninth place.

The WPT Korea Main Event final table will kick off on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. local time from Grand Jeju Paradise Casino. Who will emerge victorious? Stay tuned to WPT.com to find out!
