Following its newest televised event – the WPT Parx Open Poker Classic at Parx Casino outside Philadelphia, PA – the lights, cameras, and high-stakes action of World Poker Tour heads to the West Coast for one of poker’s pre-eminent tournaments when WPT Legends of Poker begins at LA’s renowned Bicycle Casino on August 24, 2012.

A staple on the World Poker Tour schedule since Season I, the WPT Legends of Poker truly lives up to its name, consistently drawing huge fields filled with the game’s best-known pros. Past Legends champions include Doyle Brunson, Dan Harrington, WPT Season IX Player of the Year Andy Frankenberger, and defending champion, Will “The Thrill” Failla who battled his way through a 757-player field and a long, tough final table to claim the WPT Champions Cup and more than $758,000 in prize money.

In its 11th season as a WPT Tour event, this prestigious tournament is set to be bigger and better than ever, with a $3,700 buy-in (with re-entry on Day 1B) and a multi-million dollar prize pool. “Legends is one of those ‘must-play’ tournaments for many of the game’s top pros,” said WPT CEO, Steve Heller. “The tournament’s rich history, the high level of competition, and the huge prize pool make this one of the game’s most prestigious titles, and a highlight of each year’s WPT schedule for both players and fans.”

Located just a few miles from the excitement of downtown LA, the glamour of Beverly Hills, and the beautiful Southern California coast, the Bicycle Casino is one of the world’s largest poker rooms and a premier destination, providing both thrilling poker action and easy access to all of the wonders that Los Angeles has to offer. Held in the Bicycle’s dedicated tournament facility, players at WPT Legends of Poker can concentrate on playing their best possible game without distraction from outside influences on the main gaming floor. Away from the tournament tables, players can enjoy 175 cash game tables offering all poker varieties, along with table games such as Blackjack, Pai Gow, Three-Card Poker, and Baccarat.

For WPT Champions Club members and ClubWPT VIPs who want to enjoy the Southern California sunshine, there will be an exclusive golf outing at Rio Hondo Golf Course with WPT commentators Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten, and Executive Tour Director, Matt Savage.

Mike, Vince and Matt will be joined by the rest of the WPT cast, including anchor Kimberly Lansing, Raw Deal host Tony Dunst, and the beautiful Royal Flush Girls during play down and for the final table, which will be recorded for broadcast on FSN in early 2013. Mike and Vince will call the final table action on August 29, while Tony hosts WPT’s final table live stream starting at 4:30pm PT on www.WorldPokerTour.com.
